Civilian consultant, archaeology
I'm Cardassian. We're always certain. Occasionally we're right.
Dr. Ilani Merek is a Cardassian archaeologist in a galaxy that doesn't trust Cardassians, working in a field most of her colleagues consider a fantasy. She comes aboard the Snowdon with a stack of paper notebooks and no intention of explaining herself.
Dry, precise and quietly brave, Merek has a gift for languages nobody has spoken in a very long time, and a family history she carries everywhere she goes.
