Chief medical officer
I'm on my seventh life, Commander. They're all convenient eventually.
Dr. Seren Lavik is the seventh host of the Lavik symbiont, which means the Snowdon's chief medical officer comes with four centuries of experience, a great many opinions and at least one former life as a monk.
Warm, unhurried and impossible to shock, Lavik doubles as the ship's unofficial counsellor and its most reliable source of gossip. One of her previous hosts was an archaeologist, which makes the Expanse's ruins more personal than she lets on.
